A lively retelling of the classic folk tale, The Little Red Hen by Paul Galdone follows a hardworking hen as she plants, harvests and bakes wheat while her barnyard companions decline to help. Galdone’s engaging illustrations bring the familiar story to life, while its memorable refrain introduces young readers to themes of effort, cooperation and sharing. A charming read-aloud for family story time.
