When Jonah Hale comes to Paul Madriani with a desperate problem, Paul knows his dream of a quite life in San Diego must go on hold. Jonah`s granddaughter Amanda is missing, snatched by her drug addict mother with the help of the charismatic feminist leader Zolanda "Zo` Suade. Amid allegations that Jonah abused Amanda and is unfit to have custody, Paul watches his client`s anger turn to rage. Then Zo is found murdered and the police immediately arrest Jonah. Even Paul can`t be certain that the old man didn`t do it. But when another suspect moves into the frame, someone who may also want Amanda and her mother dead, Paul finds himself on a frantic hunt to find them, as much to uncover evidence as to save lives.
